University student societies from across the globe are frenetically forming teams to enter the CFO Case Study Competition, where they will tackle the topic of strategic threats, opportunities, weaknesses and ethical dilemmas facing key decision-makers in the mobile telecommunications sector.

Some 200 entrants have already registered for the competition, which will see Africa's aspiring CFOs and business leaders compete for a R100 000 grand prize, scholarship packages for the runners up, and two smaller cash prizes for the winners of the CFO Brand Ambassador and CFO Social Media awards. Numerous entrants have also signed up as CFO brand ambassadors, CFO social media contestants, mentors, case study experts, examiners and judges.

Valentine Nti, CEO of The CharterQuest Institute and Project Executive Director of the competition, pictured above with Graham Fehrsen, CFO South Africa MD, said:

"I am deeply humbled that key organisations and institutions from across the world are heeding the call to build Africa's next generation of CFOs and business leaders."

Nti further encouraged CFOs and business leaders to get involved, to take part as judges, to register their entry-level staff as participants, or to make a greater commitment by donating a proportion of their corporate social investment in support of the initiative, be it financially, logistically or materially.

The competition, which closes on 31 March 2016, enjoys support from CFO South Africa and theAssociation of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) recently also came on board to endorse and support the initiative.
